We attended the UK Polocrosse Association Fund Raiser last night and boy did they raise funds! A massive well done to the organising team and a massive thank you to all those who supported the event.
Shane is the national coach of the UK Polocrosse Team heading out to the Polocrosse World Cup in April 2019 taking place in Warwick, Queensland Australia. The main aim this coming week is to stay dry!! So far, the rain has caused some serious flooding in our fields. Fortunately we have been able to empty a couple more stables to allow a couple more to come in before they develop webbed feet. Shane and I are thinking of ditching our cars and investing in a boat!!! And having just seen the latest weather forecast on this evenings countryfile, we will be loading all the animals into that boat!! The diary is starting to fill up which is great, although not much time for social! We have many different horses in now and a waiting list for many more from all sorts of disciplines. Shane loves to have so many different horses, it keeps him on his toes for sure. But as always, his method works wonders on our variety of residents! Keep reading, more news in due course!

Today is my birthday! Although the day goes on as normal! Too many mouths to feed, but credit to Shane he has let me stay inside and do house work and play on the computer!!
The big thaw! Having had a few days of freezing temperatures and snow falling inside the barn, we are now left with the big thaw! What joy. At least he water is back on and working and we haven't suffered any leaks. We are quite good at getting prepared for the freezing temperatures now so no big dramas. Horses have continued to be worked as much as normal as possible. Shane does struggle with the cold but just so long as he can pop in the house and warm himself every so often, he is fine! The constant supply of coffee helps! Horses currently in work - a mixture really. Some youngsters destined for polo, a young reiner and a couple of show horses. Horses due to come in, a race horse, some show jumpers and more polo ponies. Keeps us on our toes! We welcome Kelly May Cutmore, Kelly is with us on a part time basis. Welcome Kelly and we hope you enjoy it here! Hopefully, I can keep this blog going and I will add information and photos as often as possible. |
